I posted this on another site a few months back when I finished it. A few of my pal's have asked me enough times to post it here as well...they broke me down slowwwwly and it worked! ;) Im not a pic flashing kind of guy I guess. Thanks for looking and re-looking.
58" ntn
Goat rawhide backed osage
57# @ 28"
Canebrake skins over the rawhide, left natural colored.
I applied about 5-6 coats of Formbys on the belly and sides and about double that on the skinnys.
Its just a fuzz over 1 1/4" wide tapering to 5/8" static tips. The nock overlays are antler from a buck I shot a loooooong time ago with dads 22-250...legally.... 8)

Thats sweet! I love the skins. Excellent work!

nice bend's on that one, Bub

Awesome bow! That sucker has a beautifull bend... I got one quick question, When you measure a recurve's length n2n, do you measure straight between the nocks, or the length around the curves (as in the stave's origional length before it was bent)

Excellent looking bow, Drums. A bendy handle with static tips...cool. 8) Bring it over to Marty's in January. I'd like to see that one up close and personal. If I play my cards right, maybe you'll let me shoot it? >:D >:D

Thanks one and all for your kind words, it means allot when your peer's enjoy your work. I neglected to state the obvious in my original post.....that handle is working its butt off.....safely of course.

That is one sweet bow. The curves, the tiller, the skins all look perfect.

Awesome, I love it! My kids wonder why i refer to my bows as "her", and this one shows why . . . those sexy curves >:D
(haven't told them that yet tho ;) )
Nice work PD, to say the least :)

Cip the cool part about this bow is every stitch of it (minus antler tips) came from my friends here. Clint hooked me up with a great stave, you got me some killer Canebrakes and Smokey set me up with the rawhide. Thats what makes this bow special to me more so than the deer or anything else about it. Its a PA bow through and through! Thanks again for the kind words and raw materials to make it happen friends!

That is awesome. Just another example of how this site continues to keep primitive archery alive and promoting the tradition. Great folks on here ;)
