Shipped Finally! Whew - thought I was never going to get to this point. Seemed so easy at first. Ever changing Honey-Do list, Grandkids and that doggone Christmas thing kept rearing their ugly heads. It did really go out today though. Hope you enjoy it.

Got my package from Elktracker yesterday, a dozen Fur shafts, a chunk of beaver hide, nice little fleece case and a great back scratcher made from some Yew !

Glad you liked them John, I made probabbly 50 of the old growth douglas fir shafts and I picked you out the best ones ;) So needless to say I put the Strunk Arrow Plane through some good use! I know the back scratcher aint really primitive but they are nice to have I think :) I didnt tan the beaver fur so I cheated there, thats just an extrad bit of padding. Glad you liked them and ill get you marked off the list.
PS the way I to photobucket on here is I go to the album I want to use pictures from then I hold my mouse on that picture untill a few options appear then go to the bottom option(IMG Code) and click it, it will say coppied. Then hit reply here and paste it in the reply. easiest way I found to do it!

I really love my arrows John!!!! He made me 2 with field points, 2 with blunts, and 2 with trade points on them.. I shot the two with the field points this morning and they fly straight and are very quiet!!! Thanks a bunch John, they are beautiful and I love them! :) :) :)

Shipped and received. As usual- this was a blast! The last several years I have always tried something different- stepped out of my comfort zone- and it is rewarding and exciting sending a gift out. I had been wanting to try and replicate Tim Ott's "
Eye Candy". It didn't look nearly the same, but I liked the camo affect the arrows took. Can't wait to do it again next year.

Up 'til 11:30 or so last night working on a sheath for mine. Need to add a few finishing touches over the next couple of days and it'll be ready to ship. I kinda like the way it's turning out, hopefully the recipient feels the same way.

It has arrived Madcrow!!!! I was trying to get some pics uploaded by my kid's had my camera batt. charger with them down state. Got them now and need to upload them to show off.
All I can say is that you have no idea how blessed I felt when I opened the box...this year has been a very tough go for me and recently I have had a world of issues and troubles (I was the guy who was going to drop out of the Xmas gift trade but the gang here kept my name in the hat and someone graciously covered for my end of the bargin and they still kept my name in the trade...I can't thank all of you who were a part of that enough!!)
The quiver is just stunning and will be used on all my primitive hunts from now on...I skinned out a coon from my trapline with the neck knife and just love that little bugger and the sheath to death. The flint knife was a total bonus and to say you spoiled me doesn't really do the whole gesture justice. I don't have any pics of the nice neckless you sent as my 9yr old, Gray, ran off with it immediately after I opened it ::) You, my friend, are one extremely talented man! Thank you so much for you generosity!

Those littlebeads are mid 1800s trade beads. The stone is Texas rootbeer. The quiver is dyed rawhide. I love those things. The necklace is a bone Cahokia. I left the point dull just in case a child gets it you you wear it to sleep. Have fun with it all and enjoy my friend. It was a blast making it all.

The trade beads are on the sheath just below the brass. The necklace has old glass beads, but I don't think they are as old as the other. If you want, I can make a necklace for the nine year old and you might be able to get yours back.

thanks for the kind offer but I have a 12 year old too and he'll feel put out so I'll just find another cool, to a 9 yr old, necklace and get it back from him this weekend when I see the wife and boys. You are much too kind.

I am home for a night between trade shows and picked up an incredable package from Snakeman.
I have no time to get images up, but I think there are some on the other thread about page 24. They are an nothing short of beautiful and amazing.

YEE HAW!! WHOO HOOO!! Oh, scues me, I'm shakin a bit. Got a honk from the mail carrier today while playin in the yard w/ my youngest boy. I thought, "This has to be a good sign." He pulls out a long damaged cardboard tube and gives me a speech about insurance. Being the same guy who has carried several boxes of rock up to me while I knap on the porch, he inquired about the contents and we proceeded to talk about bows and their care...he left and I took some picks of the damaged box and opened it on the end. Next I slowly pulled a beautiful fully undamaged osage character bow @ my perfect draw and weight, #41@26", with a linen? string!!!!! :o :o :o Fishfinder, you are THE MAN! This has got to be the most exciting gift I have gotten since getting mt first shotgun @ age 14 in 1984!! I've never even shot a self bow, so have a bunch of care instructions. First off, I heat w/ wood here in Indiana, the humidity in my main room is @ 34% right now. Where should I store it? can I brace it now or let it settle a few days? I can see where the lower knot was tied, then I'll use a stringer like any other trad bow? Man I'll be checking this site a lot today I bet. ;D

im glad it made it there ok, for storage try to keep in low humidity, but it was finished with beeswax so it whouldnt be too bad. you can go ahead and brace it now if you want, i put around 1-2 hundred shots through it to make sure it would hold up. you can brace it like any other bow, i persoanlly did it without a stringer, but thats just my preference. the string is actually fastflight, not linnen, if you ever need to re finish it, it is just a hand rubbed beeswax coating over linseed oil, so it should be easy to re apply. if you have any more questions jsut ask

I'm glad you like the "stuff." The sling was braided from palm, and the crosses were also made from palm. They came from two palms that were killed by the freeze last Febraury on the church grounds. When they cut the palms down I asked for the branches. Diego helped me haul, clip, cut and make the crosses. The coal piece we collected on the Texas coast in Port Aransas. I've heard you can paint bows with it. The five stones we collected in Matagorda, Pearsall, Huckabay and Stephenville. The key chain is poplar and red oak. The duck feathers came from ducks Diego harvested a few weeks ago. They were his first ducks. Gadwells.

Thanks Cipriano it is really cool. My wife liked them as well. Whenever they came in we were trying to think which rooms we didn't have crosses hanging so we can put them up in our house. I liked the palm braiding as well on the sling. I was laid up a few days with the flu so I plan to get pictures up tonight.
