Hey guys, I will show you a new Hickory board bow I made a few weeks ago. First pics were shown in my prehistoric setup topic.
The bow is about 64" NTN long and draws 52lbs @27". It is made out of a Hickoryboard only 13/16 thick. The width is 1 1/4 inch direkt at the fade and 9/16 at the nock. The light curves are bend with dry head during belly-tempering.
The grip is build up with cork covered with a leather handle. Every limb has a decoration from fishleather.
Enjoy the pics:

Andrew, a very handsome bow! Great job. The docorations are very appropriate, primitive and sophisticated at the same time.

That is a fine bow. What is the string made of...hemp?
We'll look at it next week again for July Self Bow of the Month voting.

Nice bow...love the tiller!!! :)

Thanks for your compliments!
I have forgotten the colour comes from fresh green walnuts and then from charcoal.
@Don
The string on the nockpics is linen. It is a prewaxed shoemakers linen you can buy here in Germany.
Next I will try to make a linenstring out of linen. A farmer here grows linen for making clothes. I will ask him to get a bundle of the plants and then I can try to make a string.
