Heres a couple of bows I've finished over the last few months. The first one is a 68" ntn rawhide backed juniper. It pulls 50# at 28". Second one is Black Locust with a little bit of character to it. It pulls 50# at 28".

Sweet...I like the reflex maintained in the juniper, and combine that with its lightweight it should be a good shooter....hope it holds up for you. Is it all sapwood?
Tiller looks awesome on the black locust...nice job on both ;)

Great looking bows. Nice tiller on both
-
Both are very nice but I really like the juniper D-bow. cant beat a well tillered D-bow! :)

Thanks for all the compliments guys, it means a lot. This was my first time workin with both of these woods and they were as different as daylight and dark.
Blackhawk and Juniper Junkie, yes the juniper bow is all sapwood. Like I said above this was my first time workin with juniper so I didnt really know what to expect from this style of bow but I am very happy with the way it turned out. I heated 2" of reflex into it and it ended up with 1.5". The juniper was a gift from a friend in Idaho. We have lots of erc around here but not this type of juniper. Do you guys know if erc would have about the same characteristics as the juniper does?

cool bows , nice work....

Thanks for this thread. I got some juniper from Gordon at Pappy's last May , and I couldn't remember how he told me to make it. All sapwood. Okay. I love both your bows. Well built. Thanks for showing them.
