Title: simple bow pics...
Post by: michbowguy on August 01, 2007, 08:41:54 pm
62" ntn, 38# @ 26",unbacked white oak sliver , simple cordage grip, small leather arrow pass, beeswax finish. This bow was made for a youngster who i had promised a bow too and the only one he could draw back has a raised splinter!
He seemed quite devastated as to why he could not have any of my bigger bows,as i wanted him to enjoy shooting.
soooo i took a couple of days and put everything else on back burner and made this.

Way to go Jamie. Keep them kids interested!  ;D    I love the simpler bows. I'm sure your little friend will too!     Is the upper limb outer 1/3 a bit stiff or is that the camera angle?    Pat

i tried to put narrow, thick tips on this one.
but i think its stiff now that you mention it.
not sure, should i care , or will that be a worry spot in future?

Pretty neat and nice of you to make it for a child. Any chance of seeing the bow cranked backed by the recipient?

Nice bow Jamie, hey by chance do you attend the superiorland traditional shoot in Marquette? I can't find any info on this years shoot, maybe they had it already, last year it was the same weekend as the Rapid River PowWow, I want to check that out this year too.
Again, nice bow.

Just talked to Steve Turay at Northern Mist and their shoot is Aug. 18th to the 19th. It is behind Marquette Mall, follow the signs. What a nice guy, very helpful. His phone number is 906-485-5480. Hope this helps.
