Well I finally reached my 100th bow milestone. I wanted to do something special to commemorate my 100th. I though bout yew and some other ideas, but I realized I am best known for my "twistedlimbs" bows so I figured I should make a really nice "Twisted" Osage bow. One that was above and beyond my standard. This is what I can up with. A tight grained, straight limbed osage bow. 66" long and a brutal 78# @ 26" draw. It's a very conservative draw length, but I may very well hang on to this bow for myself with hopes of a stone point moose hunt someday, and I only draw roughly 25". It was about all I had to pull full draw for a picture. The limbs have a lot of random snake and about a dozen knot clusters. I let the draw knife tell the story of the grain and I couldn't be happier. I believe I will be calling it "Moose" not only because I hope to hunt a moose with it someday, but also because its a true beast of a bow. The tips are Osage over Brazilian walnut Bi-level tips and the grip is dark chocolate deer leather. I took a lot of extra time to make sure I didn't rush this bow so I could be sure it would be all I wanted it to be. My only regret is that I cannot seems to take pictures to do it justice or show all of it's character. thanks for lookin- Ryan

Nice working bow, just enough character to be interesting without carrying excess weight.
Bet that punches out an arrow.

-
you did a nice job on that one. does osage grow up where you live or do you buy/trade for it?
-
will- tips are 1\2 outside width and 3\8 inside nocks. I dont know what width they were when I started tillering.. i dont measure anything except center before i start on a bow. right now they are only 3\4 at start of working limb then 1\2" thick a 3rd of the way down and fade to roughly 3\8" thick. not very thick for a heavy lunker i dont think. limbs are roughly 1.5 wide
Stefan- no osage around me, I have to trade for it or buy it. luckily i traded for this piece.

Absolutely stunning way to hit a 100. Incredible bow and craftsmanship... Those tips are something else.
