there is about 1/4 to 3/8 inch on the back with some pretty good size knots. I got some goat hide and a bunch of sinew, I am going to use one or the other on this one. It's a spookie stave for sure but I haven't had the pleasure of blowing one up yet :)

What you shooting for as far as weight & length. Off hand I would say go with the rawhide.

Some where between 40 to 50#s at 27 inches and it's 65"s long and about 2"s at the fades as it sits.

I would still go with rawhide. Goat is thin and light, should be good protection for the back.

I have a ERC stave that I have been working off and on......interested to see how yours turns out. I plan to use rawhide on mine.

kip go with the raw hide u should b fine but ill say b carfel tillrin it shoot for the lower poundage brock
