Looks real nice! can you tell us about it? what's it made out of, what are the specs? Welcome to PA :)
-
This is the first time I have posted a bow on this sight. I have been enjoying primitive archer message board for a while now, and since I copied my handle wrap from a tutorial off this sight I figured now was a good time to start. 53" sinew backed osage, 52# at 27". Thanks for looking, Bob
I had trouble posting pictures here, I read a few explanations, but I just dont get it.

Since you already have the pictures on photobucket it's a real easy step from there. when you hold your mouse cursor over a picture in your photobucket album there will be a little pop-dowm window with a few image codes. Click on the one that says 'direct link' and it will copy it for you. Then in your PA post there is a little icon with a tiny mona lisa that says 'insert image' when you mouse over it. click that and it will put a code into your post. all you need to do is hit ctrl-v to paste your picture link into the code and the picture will show up in your post. I hope that makes sense, it's much easier to do than to explain.

I think it worked, thanks.

hi bob :)...good to see ya posting a bow over here...looks like the pic worked...now wheres the rest? ;)
-
Sure did. This may be your first bow post, but that isn't your first bow I'd wager. Very nice work and lovely tiller. Welcome. Make sure you post one of those full draw pictures.

Really like that grip wrap. Nice looking work.

Really like the way the sinew back looks, what did you do to it to get that look, as far as the color goes?

Thank you for the comments, and here is a picture of the full draw hopefully. Josh, I am from St. Michael Pa, just outside of Johnstown, still familiar?
TurtleCreek, I use leather dye on the back placed on by dipping a plastic bag in the dye and blotting it on (an idea borrowed from another bowyer). I used black and mahogony.

Let me try again.(http://i1163.photobucket.com/albums/q556/longbow60/6.jpg)

Nice bow man, welcome to the family :)

Actually if you click in the bottom box that pops up below your picture (labelled "IMG Code"), you can just past that directly into your post without having to use the "insert image" button. It puts the "[img.][/img.]" tags in for you, which makes it even easier.
-
Also, use the Preview button when you're posting pictures this way. If you don't see the picture in the preview, might as well keep editing as it isn't right. Also, you get a modify button in the upper right corner of your posts. If you see something didn't work, you can go back and edit it to fix it. I just used it on this post. :)

Very nice, looks like a great little hunter!!

Sweet looking bow. The sinew looks nice.

Thank you all again for the additional comments on my bow, the welcome, and the extra help with posting pictures. It is something this techno-defficient caveman is going to have to work on. Blackhawk, were you able to see the other pictures on photobucket?

i was only able to see the two you posted...was there more bob?
and no blackhawk influence going on here guy...bobs got his own style ;)
-
You are too modest blackhawk, you can't look at your bows without be influenced. I need practice at this picture thing anyway so I will try and give you a couple more to check out.(http://i1163.photobucket.com/albums/q556/longbow60/3.jpg)

Someone gave me this wood for the tips, anybody have an idea of what it is? I dont know myself.
-
no idea what that wood is for the tips but they look nice and i like the bows profile..sweeeeet :)
-
Tips could be genuine mahogany. Might also be Merbau, but I'm guessing mahogany.
I like those tips! Nice shape to them. Also great attention to detail and nice finish.
-
Was the tip wood light in weight !
It looks like Mahogany to me also !
-
Really nice job. Tiller is spot on. Glad you are posting your work. I wonder how many guys out there are lurking that make excellent bows and we have'nt had the chance to see them yet? Come on boys....get yer stuff out there so we can drool over em.
Looks like that little shorty needs to be in a turkey blind this spring. Danny
