Just finished putting this together. Knife blank is from Texas Knifemaker Supply (Buffalo Bowie) and the antler is Red Stag. Ihaven't put a finish/sealer on the antler yet and was wondering if anyone had some advice. Want something glossy, but has a durable and hard finish to it. Some of the other finishes I've used on knife handles got sticky/tacky after long periods of holding/cutting/skinning and would like to avoid that.

 Appreciate any input! Thanks guys!

I wouldn't put any finish on it. Let hand oil be the finish.

what Pat said, look's nice, Bub

I wouldn't bother trying to finish the handle with anything either, but to my "Own personal taste" I would shorten the handle to the first notch on the bottom of the grip, and round the top to meet it.  If you can understand what I mean.  Other than my own taste, that is a nice knife! ;)

Thanks for all the kind words guys! Looks like I'm going to leave it as is and let the "Hand Oil" (ala Pat B  ;D) be the finish.
