Title: First Composite Bow!!
Post by: osprey on August 27, 2007, 09:45:58 pm
My friend and I are working on a composite bow!!! The core will be vine maple, we have about four buffalo horns for the belly, and mixture of elk and deer sinew for the back. A while back I purchased some sitka spruce for arrows that turned out to be bad so we are planning to use it for the siyahs. The design we are shooting for is a cross between the Avar horse bow on page 135 in the second Bowyers Bible and Robin Hoods bow in the new TV series on BBC America (which I suspect is Hungarian and not Turkish due to the fact that the show is filmed in Hungry and all the stunt people and weapons makers are Hungarian). I will start posting pic once some more progress has been made.
