Title: another plains style bow
Post by: Ryan_Gill_HuntPrimitive on April 18, 2012, 01:27:02 pm
Here is another plains type bow i put together.  its 52" long classic gullwing with flipped tips. unbacked and 45# @ 27" draw  quite a draw outa this little bow.  pic is probably only drawn to 26". Tillered it out to 27" to see if it would hold up and it has done so perfectly.  tiller is a tad off for my liking, but still pretty close.  nothing to special, just showing you my experience in dabbling out of my normal realm of bow making.

I like the lines on your bow - it has just the amount of tip reflex that I like.

Liking this bow more and more.

Any chance of seeing a pic of the back outline? It almost looks like it goes straight down from tip to handle.

Yup, another good un.
When is someone going to post something awful? ::)
I like the reflex deflex reflex shape (couldn't you make your mind up? ;) )
Nice clean lines

Thats the style Del!   i guess thats whats makes it a plains style....one thing i will admit it makes for a good performing bow.

here is the back picture.  it has a slight amount of taper but not much.   BTW i should probably add, I dont put pencil to wood, it's all eyeball and handtools.  no power tools...not even one
