Title: My Grandpa

He was born about 1929. No one knows for sure. He and his sisters were raised by their grandmother for a time before the NDN agent convinced her that the kids were better off at the NDN school!  They were forced apart and my grandfather survived the genocide that was happening under the guise of religion. Physical, emotional and spiritual abuses inflicted upon thousands of NDN children.  He raised two families, had a successful career as a mechanic (Dr Bill) and was a worker of wood. He was a husband, father, teacher and friend. He was my grandfather! He passed away earlier this week and it is time to go home and put him to rest. Bill Richard 1929-2012. May creator keep you safe and let you be remembered with the happiness a well lived life deserves!  Thank you all for your friendship and support!

Sorry for your loss, Ben. Like Pappy said, they are special. I still think about mine 20 years later.

I hope your Grandfather is striding green forests and fields with a fine bow in his hands, a full quiver at his side, and a fresh breeze in his face.

Sorry for your loss Ben.  I relish in the memories of my grandfathers regularlly.  We were lucky to know them coming from that time period.  dp

My heart goes out to your family during this time of mourning.  Telling us about him celebrates his life and honors him for all the good he accomplished; family, work, friends, and more. 

Thank you for sharing a small part of his life with us.
