Title: trash bag drybox?

if i put a stave into two trashbags then tied them together tightly would that dry out my sttave quicker?

There would be no air circulation to allow the moisture to leave. You can use a vehicle as a 'hot box' if you do not want to make one.

It is better to have more air movement that lots of heat. That is why most heat boxes have some type of blower in them. You can try it, but I do not think it will dry any faster than say under your bed.

It will work but like Bevan said you need air circulation. Without that you are only steaming the wood.

Wrapping a stave in plastic, such as trash bags, is a great way to slow down the drying of the wood. Great for hard-to-dry woods that check reasily when dried too quickly.
