Title: backed and self bow shooting styles?
Post by: bushboy on May 01, 2012, 01:55:47 pm
Building bows is one challenge, but learning how to shoot them is another!for me three finger under, double anchor and 2 second hold works best for me! I shoot a 72 bbelm d bow @60#.am building a 64" elm pyramid style and wondering it would hold up with this style or should I revisit snap shooting? Thx's bobbyjoe!

A two second hold is way long for a primitive bow imho.  And while a precise double anchor
will work well it ain't easy to use in a lot of hunting situations.

Personally I shoot instinctively which ain't the same as "snap" but that's just me.No matter
how you shoot it takes a lot of arrows to get good.

Btw, a two second hold is bad for the bow not your shooting style.

I personally disagree with Lane.. A well built bow will take a two second hold with ease, though it does not shoot quite as fast as a snap shot bow... JMHO
