Title: Sturgeon 2012 Canadain series
Post by: Stoker on May 14, 2012, 03:43:23 pm
Season started on May 8th. But you know how work cuts into your free time so Satarday was our start. We had guests from outta town catching a few little ones. Fishing was a little slow this weekend. Dan aka "SkinneyD" broke the ice by catching the first decent one 54" 35lbs. Released because it's the law. Sunny day, good freinds, bbqing elk sausage while fishing what could be wrong with that.
Thanks Leroy

That there is Luke the lucky fishing dog. My 8yr old Irish setter. To get him to look like that you must go in river roll in sand. Repeat 30-40 times. That reminds me I have to vaccum out my truck. I'm the popular one when we come home. Ms Kerrie came home with him about 1 1/2 years ago part of the deal was he got to camp and fish with me.

What's the fun in going fishing alone, anyway?  At least he won't be drinking all your beverages!

Nice sturgeon, gorgeous fish.  Yeah, it is tough to release, but they are slow growing fish.  And a great environmental indicator species because they are at the very top of the food chain.  Anything toxic in the water accumulates in their bodies quickly.  In that sense, they are often the first ones to take the hit when pollution happens.  And sadly, the last ones to recover.

JW- Luke is a great fishing partner. I don't  know what his life was before but his favorite drink is Captain and cola splash of lime. Found that out the hard way :o :o
Thanks Leroy
