I have one laid out at 1.5" wide. 14" from the tip it tapers to 1/2". Looking for a 45-50lb draw at 28". What length nock to nock? It is 68" tip to tip now as it is laid out. I haven't cut it out yet. What do you guys think that have built one before?
-
For a 28" draw 64"n/n or longer. At 1 1/2" wide you might want to go 66"n/n.
-
68 " bow put the nocks down an inch on each end will give you 66" nock to nock !
If you have not cut yet you may want to go just a bit wider from fades to the taper ,but you are on the right track !
Have at and have Fun !!!

So an honest 1 5/8" at fades and parallel out to the taper or taper from the fades? Never really worked with hickory. Since it's a white wood, wider is better?

Yes, wider is better! ;) Also, hickory likes a flat belly!
