Title: My first gift bow
Post by: PEARL DRUMS on May 27, 2012, 08:48:32 pm
I received my first ever gift bow this weekend in Marshall from my BBB Chris (Blackhawk). Its 62", 55# @ 26 and has boa skins with horn tips. Its a bit of an R/D style bow with some serious early string tension and smooth draw. I have to spend some alone time with her and figure how how she needs to be held and what arrows she digs. Once I get that part done Im confident she will spit fire as most of his demon bows do  >:D

Thanks again buddy!

One that's laminated, but I was pretty sure from looking at it that it wasn't.  Really impressive to do it with a stave.  Very nice work.

I was just pickin on you George!

WOW!~ Its amazing what the right bullets will do for a gun. I shot this bow a handful of times when Chris gave it to me and knew it had a some wang, I just didnt have the right ammo to prove it. I shot some 28"  55-60 POC from her and she spits a perfect arrow every time.....................that was easy! Thanks again buddy..................I guess I owe ya' one now....;)

Blackhawk filled me in on the details. Alot of my friends shot the bow and a few pitched in......at the Classic no less. That makes it even more special to me.

Heres some more of those details  ;)......cus its got some mojo for sure

It was about a 15 year old seasoned stave from a lightning struck tree, and the stave was given to me by my buddy Jon(straightarrow)....it was made at the tennesse classic, the horn for the nocks was given to me by kerry brinkley(whitetail osage),the string was made by clay massey,it was shot by steve gardner(badger),willh, patb, cody(misslemaster),clint(osage outlaw),guy(buckeye guy),and im prob forgetting someone or two,and of course me ;)
