Scott and I are going to this event this weekend so thought I thought a post of the trip would be in order. My knapping kit is packed and a bucket of white Burlington all heat treated sits like a gift under a christmas tree waiting to be unwrapped. I hope to meet someone that has some time working with the sollberger jig. I was wondering if any of the PA knappers are going. Anyway 24 hours from now we will be headed south again for more fun.

You should drive over and break rock with me.

Well did not make it very far yet. Waiting to talk to cops. Man approached me at drive up window while i was getting money. His face bloodly and giving me a story. I said back off and drove around the and called the cops. 911 now wants me to sit tight to give a stuatement. I dont know what more to say. Okay the word from the cops are they came back told me they interviewed a guy the blood was on the face was fake he is going to jail. Sure pays to be an ex cop.

Okay here's how it went down. I pull into the atm at 338 now I noticed a vehicle 100 yards in front of me with the lights on facing away from me. Having been in the military I'm always thinking 360. So as I pull my atm card out and rolled my window down there vehicle turn and facss my vehicle. I knew something was going down I got my money and got ready to take off. Before I knew it I had a man with a bloody face at my passenger window. He told me he had been beat up I told him I didn't care get away form my vehicle. I alreay had my vehicle in gear .and took off around the corner and called 911. I circled the block turn my lights off drove up I got my eye on him I waited for the cops to show up. I could see them interviewing him and they arrested him. Then the cops came and told me what was going on and informed me that he had fake blood on his face.

Its a really nice setting to be breaking rock with some good ol folks. Spent most of the first day walking around meet and greet and picking up a little rock. I traded John for a nice white piece of burlingon and turned it into a little andice. 2 other points were completed but no pics yet.

Very nice andice stringman!

John's right. He said "boy that looks like crap! I think I would have cleaned it up before you posted it." So I cleaned it up afterwards.

I learned a ton from Marty and phil about flint knapping this weekend. Larry puts on a very good knappin. Those who attended were just super nice people and very friendy. Be sure to look back a page a check out the points that Scott and and I made.

There looks like a good time, great material and points made. Those are some awesome flutes. ' Frank

Nice pics. Couldn't make it this year. Who is doing the picking in the night shot, Looks like Larry has his drum kit and I bet Rob and Randy did some picking. One of my favorite parts of getting together with my knapping friends. Mike

Looks like a good time. Its just my luck, I was loading in st. Louis everyday for a month and a half. The week after I move on to other things, a knap-in just down the road from where I spent my weekends. Oh well, maybe next year. Sweet points BTW. I'm glad that other situation didn't escalate into something worse. Josh
