Hey you guys. Heres the first few points Ive made from the HC Shannon and I picked up the other weekend. Of course they have deep basal notches and could be called calf creeks or andices... ::) Im addicted to this point type... >:D I did branch out and try a little serration technique I picked up from Shannon on one of em. I really like the looks of this material alot but it can be really challenging to work. The super high grade is slicker than owl $%@%! But the lesser grades can be tougher than a Saturday night in jail  Anyways...here they are. Thanks fer lookin!

I love the way horse creek chert looks! You did an excellent job on those I really like those deep, narrow notches. That is my favorite knappable rock in appearance but I hate hate HATE trying it pressure flake it. Nice work man. :)

Lookin good. That's some purddy stone. You really have the andice point down pat. I know how you feel about a favorite point type, mines the corner notched.

Awesome Will! Man, you 'bout notched all the way through that second one. Love your work Brother, dpg

I was curious if you start a point with the color scheme in mind....for instance dark at the point and red at the base or are they just working out that way?
-
Very impressive color and workmanship! You sure set the bar high on them andice points!

I agree with that point! Nice work you have come a long ways Will!

I appreciate the kind words fellas :) chertle, with this colorful stuff I do try to orient the point to get the most color from the rock. Sometimes it means making a smaller point than you mIght could have but especially with how rare the tri color is in HC I always try to get the most of it ;)

Excellent points Will! I have some HC that is both tricolor and plain. Seems to be in need of heat though to work real well

Tracy I heated my stuff to around 350-400 If it's grainy it will stay grainy for the most part. But some of the slick stuff really worked alot better with a little heat. You gotta be careful not to over heat HC or it will change colors on ya ;)
