I know movies ain't very primitive.. but at least it's about archery! I saw a movie the other week that I actually enjoyed quite a bit. It's a Korean movie called War of the Arrows. They had some pretty sweet bows and some pretty interesting techniques. If you don't mind reading subtitles, I'd definitely suggest watching it. Here's the IMDB page: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2025526/ (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2025526/)
Any other archery movies you guys have seen that were pretty cool?

There a movie called the Black robe thats a good movie. You don't want to watch it with your kids, its a little racy for the youngsters.

War of the Arrows is on my "To Buy" list. Other movies with archery in it which, in my humble opinion, are good are; Apocalypto, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Seven Samurai, and Throne of Blood. Good call on Black Robe Wolleybugger.

Gladiator is an awesome movie. I'll have to check the rest of those out. Are they all as bloody/gorey as Gladiator or War of the Arrows? I don't mind it, I just need to know who I can watch it with :P

There are a suprising number of films with archery, not usually central, but sometimes critical to the plots.
Robin Hood, all versions
Underworld, second one and I think first one, not just crossbows but catapults
Hero, with Jet Li. Amazing archery scenes
Lord of the Rings, all three films
Chronicals of Narnia
9, a short scene with a tiny crossbow
Van Helsing, a steampunk repeating crossbow
King Arthur, the recent one. Bows and gastrophetes
Lost Boys and Lost Boys 2
Deliverance
Avitar
Hunger Games
Predator, Arnold builds a panda bow
Scorpion King
Kingdom of Heaven
The Weatherman
Dances with Wolves
Rambo II - evil N. Vietnamse officer gets shot with exploding arrow
Omega Man - Charlton Heston version
Probably many more.

MtDent, Apocalypto and Kingdom of Heaven are pretty bloody. Maybe not so good for the youngest members of the family. Seven Samurai and Throne of Blood, although violent, shows very liitle or no actual blood.

The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc
I like this movie's archery because it's central to the plot and it doesn't look like the people being hit by arrows are being shot with high-powered, hollow point rounds. I hate that. :o

Alexander when they invade India, they are met with bows and elephants and the Greeks horses won't ride on because they are terrified of the elephants. The Last of the Mohicans
Cipriano

War of the Arrows was a great movie. I usually don't enjoy subtitled movies but this one was worth it. Who would have thought the curved shot.
