Hey guys,
Here is a bow I built for a friend on the forum. I posted a picture of it a while back asking for advice about some tiny chrysals that apeared around a hole on the top limb. I shot it a bunch since then and they dont appear to be getting any bigger, so I have to believe that it wont be a problem in the future. I was absolutely blown away by this piece of buckthorn!!!! It barely lost any of its reflex during tillering and shoot in. I just have a few more minor cosmetic thing s to do. She's 58#@ 25". Hope the recipient likes it.

Thats a nice one! I believe I seen it in Marshall this spring. Somebody is gonna be a lucky dog!
-
Cody, you have a knack for great finish work. sweet looking bow and awesome character. whomever you have chosen to give it to is one lucky dog.

Sweeeet cody ;) ....guess what I'm working on today....yup,that buckthorn I got off of ya trading staves at marshall...its pretty wood and works nice with the hand tools, but its hell on my lungs 8)

Another fine piece of work, Cody. Your finish work is something to aspire to, for sure!! 8)

Man Cody your buckthorn bows are nice. You got a great looking bow out of what looks to have been real knarly piece of wood before you
went to work on it. Bet it's a real shooter too. Really nice work!
I have 5 buckthorn stave splits, bark on, in my shop since January that I keep looking at afraid to tackle. A couple are roller coaster backs
and a few are just plain knarly and I'm not sure I'm up to the challenge. Takes me long enough to make a bow from much cleaner wood
that I'm already familiar with. In the mean time I'll just keep looking at yours for inspiration. Thanks for posting your great bows.

Like it? I love it! Be sure to spell my name right on the shipping label, my mailman is a little touchy about those things! >:D
You could give Master Level Classes on final finishing, Cody!

Man that's a real beauty there Cody! Like the others said, your finish worknis top notch! Well done man!

Thanks everyone for the comments. @ Hawk, I wear a particle respirator while working with this wood. Some people seem to get skin reactions also, glad I dont, I really love working this wood. I'm going to all the forest preserves in our area and cutting all the useable pieces. I plan on bringing a bunch down to the classic next year.

Super bow, Cody. Can't believe there was a time that I cut so much of it for habitat restoration without a clue for its use. We'd just curse the stuff! Good to see you've worked it out!

Beautiful bow Cody, love the character and the finish work is very nice as we have come to expect from you. :) Some lucky person will be happy with that I feel sure. :)

Cody: Again, another beautiful bow. Miss Heather was admiring hers (from you), just last night. You've certainly got something there with that Buckthorn. Maybe if I'm lucky enough, I'll be able to wrangle one of those staves from you at The Classic.
-
Another nice one from you . I like those knots.
