Title: harvesting bamboo? and Dogwood bows?

 I am ready to try a bamboo backed bow.  Have access to endless amounts of bamboo though I don't know what species.  How do I harvest it and prep it for bow building?  Also I am about ready to cut down a nice big dogwood...is it good bow wood?

cant help you with the bamboo. but as far as ive seen and heard on this form i would say dogwood is a great bow wood. a quick search on this forum will show a few threads with dogwood bows that look great. Heres one to start with. http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,4583.45.html
