What tools and flint are you working with? I noticed in some of your other pictures I think I saw what looked like untreated texas stuff, and some keokuk. Might I suggest if you have the funds, getting some treated novaculite, its cheap and pretty consistent. respondeds well to antler pretty well and copper or aluminum billets. From one noob to another  :). In no time your going to be hunting with your own stuff in no time.

I have been using copper stuff do do all my work, I do have texas chert, i seems to break well, but thats only a guess, i have no idea how it should be breaking. This is exactly what i purchased: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FULL-BOX-TEXAS-Flint-Chert-for-Knapping-Arrowheads-/251161224673?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:3160
