Well it amazes me the thoughtfulness and generosity of people sometimes. My neighbor had went on a hunting trip this past weekend and when he came back today he told me he had something for me so he pulled a bag out of his truck and had 6 deer hides in it! He had asked his buddies to keep the hides for me and even took care of them to make sure they didnt start to decomp or anything. So now it looks like ill busy tomorrow with 6 large hides. i think ill do 2 0r 3 hair on tans and maybe make the rest into buckskin or some rawhide what do yall think i should do with them?

I would skip the hair on and make two buckskins and four rawhides. But that is just me. I go thru lots of rawhide and use buckskin sparinly.

I'm with Madcow, very nice gift. Hair on is way more trouble and not very useful at least for me,pretty cool to look at but sure ant like fur. :) You should have a full day fleshing and taking care of them. :)

yea i have to do at least one hair on because the boss wants me to make it into a rug in the den in front of the fireplace or at least something to drape over the mantle. But the rest i will do mostly rawhide and two of them buckskin.
