Title: Ive made a happy discovery!

I have discovered that it is possible to harden and temper high carbon steel on a regular wood fire! I used a mixture of etc and bl to create a good bed of coals and then threw some bl in and constantly blew on the coals after I set the blade in the fire and achieved the bright red cherry color . Here a pic of the blade after hardening and tempering.
