Tonight I used my electric range to heat treat a hickory bow i'm working on. It seems to do a more even job than a heat gun and is a lot quieter. You guys ever tried this? It seems to do the job just fine

You want my wife to kill me? LOL
-
Ha I tell mine I'm helping to heat the house!
-
Yep did it on my last bow.........real early in the morning before the wife got out of bed >:D >:D >:D
-
You better turn off the smoke detectors or the wife will wake up anyway! :o

My wife is Italian/Irish and has the temper of both sides wrapped all in one, so I'll just use my heat gun in the bow shop. LOL
-
Wives are treacherous creatures! You should have seen mine when I used her crock pot for making glue out of knox!
-
never used a range but I do use a space heater

I remember someone using an electric clothes iron for heat treating.
