Last week with the big winter storm this maple tree started leaning due to the high wind. I chopped it down last week and came back to it today with a new axe and finished it up. I think it is silver maple, not sure if it will be any good for bows but its worth a try. If it doesn't work out I will use it for my various woodworking projects.

Looks to be silver. It may make some dandy split shafts?
