The friend that co-founded the Black Hills Raptor Center with me is going thru a very rough patch. It's just one dang thing after another, usually ending up with a bill that she can hardly afford to pay.
Today's problem with her car was bad enough because it made her late for a vet appointment, so I drove her there. Her dog has been diagnosed with diabetes and this bit of news just tripped the triggers emotionally for her. She's having a rough pull. Could you keep Maggie in your prayers?
This woman gives her all in a social services job caring for those on the margins of society, then spends untold hours keeping our little non-profit running, and still finds time to tutor dyslexic children. Just knowing some of you are out there praying for her would give her the strength to carry on.
Thanks everyone.

I will remember to pray for Maggie. You know your on the right path doing the right things when there's evil all along the way trying to pull you down. I pray she will stay strong!

Things have improved, and the grey clouds are lifting. Maggie wants me to thank you all for your prayers and emotional support. She also wants me to let you know her fat little rat-dog is responding to the insulin and doing very well. Fact is, the dog is at my feet begging attention as I type this!
Thanks everyone, your support is cherished!

Last night I went over to Maggie's place to feed the dogs since she works almost a 14 hr day on Thursdays. This was the first time I have ever given a dog an injection and I was pretty nervous. She gets 8 units of insulin under the skin twice a day while she is being fed. She never looked up from her bowl as the needle stuck her. No surprise, this dog LIVES to eat!
Today she was really energetic and we've had several good romps around the yard. Nice to see the mutt back in her normal state. Even Maggie's 14 yr old arthritic springer spaniel is in great spirits, he's nearly blind and uses the little dog to navigate around.
Dogs and friends, just don't want to be without either of 'em, ya know?
Again, my sincerest thanks to everyone that was so supportive.
