Title: a new bow for shikari (pic-heavy)

here is a new horn composite bow that i built  for a member here on pa,(shikari)  a really super nice guy,, he has helped me a lot, getting supplies that i need for horn bows,, just an all around great guy,, i promised to build him a bow,he just doesnt know its a indo-crab,horn bow.. the specs are--53"long tip to tip, maple core ,waterbuffalo horn belly ,moose sinew back,, the cover is a jade green snake skin,with moderate colors of black and gold,, 60# at my 28-29'draw, a really sweet shooter,,,, hope you like it pj,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,james

There are many words one could use for a bow and work like this, amazing, awesome, they all work but fall far short of the actual article itself. A craftsman once said to me “let your work speak for you” this one is shouting at all of us!

Wow is all I can say. You certainly have that design down in spades. The backing is pretty unique too. Thanks for sharing it. Lets us all know that there is so much more to learn in this thing than we initally realize.   Danny

Stunning.  That's really a work of art.  I've always been a fan of that Indo-Persian crab bow design, particularly when it's unstrung and the limbs are practically crossing each other.  It really conjures up images of the Mughal dynasty and the Taj Mahal for me.

Outstanding work!

Its one difficult task to make a great bow, but to make a piece of art from such beautiful/unique materials makes this awesome.  8)
