I made this bow for one of my friends wife. I made him a mulberry bow about 3-4 years ago and he loves it and wanted to be able to shoot with his wife. The bow is hickory backed mulberry 60" ntn 1 1/2" at the fades to 1/4" tips. It pulls 30# at 26". The recurves have a reinforcing strip of tamarisk in them, the handle is made from black walnut with a strip of mulberry through it. The overlays are pink Ivory, she said she wanted a girly bow so I tried to keep that in mind while making it. And as kind of a nice touch I put a piece of mulberry from her husbands bow under the overlays. I had alot of fun making this bow hope you guys like it. ;)

And the unstrung I forgot, It holds 2" of reflex after being unstrung.

Yes Sir!
That Bow is a Real Beauty!
Love your Finish Work... :)
Question for ya, if you don't mind me asking...
Do you make your own Bow Sleeves?
I've been thinking I need to make or find something just like that to protect my finished pieces.

Very beautiful bow! Nicely finished!
Is the string a fast flight endless loop?
-
Thanks gus, sometimes I feel like I spend more time on the finish then the while rest of the bow. And yes I do make my own. I just use heavy canvas from the fabric section of Walmart. It's maybe $2 a sleeve.
-
Thanks hatcha, it is an endless loop but it's dacron I'm too cheap for fast flight right now. ;D

Great Bow! Super detail work, and great pics too.
-
Thank you everyone. I had a question though, I was thinking about adding a hemp handle wrap on it mostly as a precaution against the bow breaking if the handle came loose. So far there is no indication it will come loose and I would hate to cover up that mulberry strip. If it was mine I'd leave it but since it's not.... Any thoughts?
-
Beautiful bow and I love the laminations.

That is gorgeous! 8)
You're right, it would be a shame to cover the handle entirely - why not a hemp whipping at each end of the mulberry strip?
-
thats a real beauty. love the tips and how you have put the curved piece of mulberry in the walnut handle.
-
Stunning bow.Nice job. Those tips and curves of the bow were made right and elegant for a lady for sure.
-
Thanks for all the kind comments everyone. I actually ended up wrapping the handle, I asked the owner and she liked how it looked.
-
What a great looking bow and very artful pictures.

Thanks Seminole, I used titebond 3 for everything.
