Are there any uses for autumn olive trees other than eating some delicious berries. I'm asking because I'm gonna be out in the woods tomorrow gathering some bow wood and other materials and there are a bunch of autumn olives about 60 yds from the house.

You might get some shafting from it or even a bow stave or two. I've never used autumn olive but you might as well try it.

I PMed him about autum olive and he said he was looking for the other kind of olive, I guess the kind that produces olives like in Italy.

I'm not sure, but if autum olive is useable there is plenty on my road, back in the "70s when the neighbors moved in, and there was no olive here, they called the forest service and they were told that a/o was a wildlife friendly. Well...enough said. I hear you cut them close and dab a herbicide right into the cut end. Be nice to use some of it. Autum Olive Bows...saving the forest one bow at a time...Multi-Rose arrow shafts. ;)dpg

I've heard that most fruit and nut trees make decent bows, but I have absolutely no idea what autumn olive even looks like. Please post pics if you decide to try it.

Well none of the autumn olive I big enough for collecting staves yet so ill just leave them be and just wait till about August to harvest their delicious berries.
