Post by: Barefoot_Jake on March 28, 2013, 08:54:10 pm
Here is my second bow  ;D
Its 43 inches T2T
and 42 inche N2N

I dont not have the poundage but i would say some where around 20# at 19 inches. I dont have a tree yet so it was done all with eye, i do have the materials now to make one so that is my next project! Would love comments and any type of advice you guys have, have a nice day.  :)

Get a little shorty like that bending in the handle some and you will eliminate a lot of that set.  Nice second bow!

So you think I should take wood off the handle or leave it as is?

Depends.  I'm a tinkerer so I might do it on this one just because.  Good practice for the next one.  Others might tell you to leave it and move on to the next one.  Your call, just recommending you get more wood working.  It will even out the stresses on the limbs.  Your bend will be more circular and less angular.  Those angles are where your set is happening.

Nice artwork. I'm sure the child will love it as it is.

Good job jake, you got to get some cured wood on the next. go up to Bush Blvd, at craftsman supply and get some ash, oak, hickory or ipe and start another.
