I've always wanted to try a bow based on several woodland influences I've taken a fancy to. I contacted Rich (Half Eye) and he offered some great help and advice. The result is made from red oak and is 58" ntn, has a tempered belly, side scallops, and holds 3/4" of reflex immediately after unstringing after about 300 shots. It pulls 35#@26". I was really surprised how well a simple bow of this design shoots. It's comfortable, fast, quiet, and extremely light in physical weight (11 oz.). Couldn't get a decent full draw, as I was snapping pictures with my iPad.

Cool bow, 4est. nice tiller.

Very nice. I recently got a copy of the Encyclopedia of native american bows arrows and quivers, and your new bow definitely fits the bill. Can't wait to try one myself, and I hope it turns out as good as yours. Great job!!

really nice job, as always , I love the way these bows shoot, and you hardly know it's in your hand, Bub

With a sweet bend like that it has to be a smooth shooter 4est. Nice work on that bow.

Sweet looking woodland bow. I really need to try a bow in that design.

That's a really cool bow. Great tiller and those pin nocks are super interesting. I really like the look of them. Thanks for sharing!

That's a beauty for sure there 4est. Hey is that Mt. Baker I see in the background (or just a big cloud)? Looks an awful lot like the Skagit Valley right there.

Awesome bow! I can picture a Native American carrying that on a hunt

Very nice indeed.

Thanks for all of the kind words, fellas. I appreciate them. :)
Randman: Nope, not a mountain...it's a cloud. What you see there is a bean field that leads straight to Canada!
-
Perfect tiller! Kudos
-
Thanks, Bryce. :) I had this one out shooting again today and really, really like it. It shoots outstanding, especially given that it's just a stupid-simple stick and string.

it's amazing how we can complicate something so simple that works so good
