So I was going to make a 66" Molly for my old man's bday but then I decided to flip the board ovver and mark up a 72", I got it all cut to length and then I went in to remove wood from the lever area, using the drawing of the 66" bow on the wrong side cutting into what was the correct bows working limb by a good 5". This left me at 58" ttt and I was wondering since I'm going for a 25-30# @ 25-26" bow cus he's starting to get his old man joints if I could salvage a pyramid bow out of it, it will have a 4" handle 2" long by 2" wide fade and width taper from 3/4 to 1/2" would this work?

your going to need to give us the wood type. but most likely it will work

Red oak board

Nope. Your first idea is shot. Time for plan B. Keep the length as is. Make the whole thing 1 1/2" wide. Repeat the process you did on your bow again. Keep in mind this is pushing the limits to the max and a tad past. You really shouldnt draw the bow over 22-23" to be safe. 25-30# max.

Plan B being the pyramid bow? For understanding purposes why am I bringing it down to 1.5"

Skip the pyramid or grip idea. Your going to make the same bow you just did, but scale it down appropriatly. You can figure it out Im sure. Your a bowyer now.

Alright, I was hoping for a different design, but I guess there are plenty mor staves for me to work on haha

To add on to what pearly said, maybe being a little more helpful, still go for the 66" molle, just keep the draw length down to 25" and you shouldn't have any problem.

So I scaled it down, would the taper starting at 13" from the tip be good?
