Awhile back I did a bow trade with Wildkatt. He said he liked his but I got the best end of the stick for sure. The bow is 46 inches ntn, sinew backed osage (with character). I called it perfection because from the first look, the first touch and the first shot it fit me perfectly. I took pics of my first 3 arrows from the bow, at 15 yards and 3 completly different arrows (stone head, bone head, and steel head)
I really wanted to share this boe because I have only had maybe 2 bows that were a perfect fit. The draw is smooth as silk all the way back, it shoots flat at the 15 yards I shot today, and burries the arrows with authority. I couldn't take no outdoor "glamor" shots because it's still snowing/sleeting today so my sincerest apologies to Mike for the crap pics. The first batch are the regulars and first 3 arrows and the second group are close-up shots.
I got to kill me some venison this comming year with this little beauty, thank you Mike for the "perfect" bow. Enjoy the pics fellas:

ps: there is a full draw pic of another of his bows at the end of group 1, that's a 41" Commanche and I'm savin that sweetheart for another post.

Wow. Very nice. Museum quality from all appearances.
-
Looks REALLY nice! Cool that you can see his wrap marks in the sinew job. I like that.
-
That is really beautiful. What are you drawing about 21 - 22"? I have a center slab of ERC I cut a couple months ago that is a decrowned naturally deflexed stave. I was thinking of flipping the tips to make a R/D and either backing it in sinew or rawhide. It is 47.5" long so I was thinking about a 22" draw would be about right for it. Hopefully it won't blow up on me, which is a very real possibility because it has several knots in it.
I was thinking about 1.5" for the center 6" then taper to 3/4" at the knocks with pin knocks.

sweet bow ya got there Rich, that's the way to get a full draw, pull it till it makes your knuckle bleed >:D
-
Thats pretty cool. Really like the braced look of that bow and the full draw is very good. If thats not the epitamy of a plains horse bow I'll kiss yer.......
-
Another heirloom! Great job Katt!
-
Nice bow there, Rich! Thanks for posting.
-
Thanks fellas, it really is too bad that ya cant get to hold it and get the "feel".
Auto@ the arrow in the full draw is a 23" incher, full draw on the bow is 25" actual. I havenot made any 25" draw arrows as of yet so it's underdrawn by at least 2".
Bubby, ya know me....."pull it to the head"
Sidewinder@ could not agree with you more, this is a plains bow.
Matt@ this is a really nice bow, maybe not to everyones taste but it suits me to perfection

Sweet little meat maker there Rich.... Kat done you right :)
What a handy little bow for the tight stuff!!!
-
Oh yeah, Rich. I love them flipped tips. Wildkatt did you proud. What's up....are you trying to keep all the snow for yourself? ???
-
Very nice bow Katt and Rich. I love the rugged appearance of it. Just a simple killing tool. Very nice tiller as well.

Katt you done real good. Rich you already know what I think.
-
What a cool bow to hunt with and it certainly does look to fit you just right Rich. Nice job Wildkatt.
-
Sounds sorta as if you like it...me too.
-
I'm really glad some of you like too.....It's hard to describe but this bow gives me the same feeling of just maybe what the Native Americans might have prized and enjoyed in the personal weapons. It has added fascination because it's a different approach to a bow than the first people used here in the great lakes area, I really like both types and it's nice to see how the end results are pretty much the same when the bows are well made.
Thanks for all the nice comments, the bow deserves every one of 'em.
