Title: My 2013 "Classic" experience
Post by: PEARL DRUMS on May 04, 2013, 07:55:20 pm
Here are just a few pics of my time at Pappys. It was an awesome experience, very humbling and very generous. It was so nice to finally apply voices to so many of you I "talk" to almost daily. Pappy, this aint the last you seen of me buddy!!!! Thanks for allowing us through the gates.  And thanks so much for the bow, knife, sock and stringer. You where on my very short list and I can now check you off...I love it!  ;D

The canvas set up I took my envious pic of is Matt and Heathers. Too cool Matt! Thats Clint (Osge Outlaw) shooting "Grilled Cheese" on the practice course, nice form Clintster! And thats me admitting guilt, Clint made me do that and Paul was ready to back him. I was screwed!

Here is Iowa Bow, Bowtarist, Blackhawk and Jackcrafty making a new drawing using all natural colors and tools. That was cool to be a small part of, and see come to fruition. Good work guys!

Hey Pearl,
It was good to meet you in person and put my hands on your bows, That bow Pappy gave you was sweet.  You'll have to join us all at Dave's (Hedgeapple's Moontree) next year. Great bunch of guys............

I know exactly how you feel on that limb shot, I hit it almost at the same spot.

Again thanks for your comments on this site, I've learned a lot from your posts.  As you know from the static curve, I tried the same thing........quart can.
Hope to see you soon and have a little more time to pick your brain.
Till next time,
DBar

The guy cooking the eggs is Pearly's brother in law.  He was our camp cook.  Before he showed up I was eating pringles for breakfast and cold spaghettios out of a can for dinner.  Once he got there I was having bacon, eggs, and biscuits for breakfast, and grilled chicken for dinner.  All cooked over the fire.  I was impressed!

Weather Underground wasnt lying Bob.  We left at 10:30 pm Friday night. Our campsite was a lake before we hit Louisville according to Clint. I HATED leaving, but what do you do? Let the whole shooting match getting soaked and pack it up in the rain and drive 10 hours soaking wet? Nah.....I got 3 days and that was worth the ride. The weather turned nasty and stayed nasty Friday late evening. I wanted to say my proper good byes to several FANTASTIC folks, just couldnt make it happen. Sorry guys. I will see a bunch of you in a few weeks in Marshall.

Right back at ya' dancing bear. Your work was every bit as beautiful in person as I suspected it would be. Thanks for the turkey feather finishing tips, Im thinking its time for me to try it. I was LUCKY enough to speak with you and one other fella' about it this week and feel like its possible for me now.

How lucky are we to have a place like the Classic to gather at and share this stuff in person?

Pearly, when Blackhawk told me you had left early, I was disappointed and told him that I really was looking forward to meeting.  Looking back he had that strange, inquisitive look on his face that only Chris can do.  Now, I know the reason for the look.  I did meet you, but somehow in the barrage of names and excitement I didn't connect your name to your face.  Thank god for pictures to refresh the memory of old minds.
