Little bow and quiver combo.
The bow is 60" t2t, 58" n2n, hackberry bow pulling 34#@28" and, with a rawhide backing covered by a western diamondback snake skin. I was going to add a leather hand wrap but the skin turned out so nice I couldn't cover it up. It is shoot off the hand style but I still cut the bow for a right handed shooter to bring the arrow a little closer to center. Very quiet, low to no vibration and pretty darn fast with a 400 grn arrow for a 34# bow.
The quiver is also from a Western Diamondback, although a substantially larger specimen of snake-zilla proportions that was sent to me by a hunting buddy from Texas. The pattern was so large that I thought it would get lost on a bow, thus the quiver was born.
Hope you enjoy, full draw and more vanity pics to follow.

Man that is a pretty combo! Were you going for that weight? I seem to come in light too often and plan to try some hackberry soon.
Love the finish, what is it?
-
In the case of the bow, I was going for a lighter bow per request. The finish is a combination of fiebings leather dye USMC black and light brown with the whole bow sealed in poly, satin finish.
THe quiver is as a result of a hunting bud in Texas sending me a snake that was taken out at the ranch. He sent me the skin for bow backing, but it was so large that I thought the pattern would be lost on a bow limb. So I came up with the quiver instead.

Good looking tiller and I'm falling in love with that quiver! :)
We had a missionary that was a linguistics expert and evangilized in the rural rain forrest of South American come talk at our Youth Group about a year ago. He had a really cool testimoney and some awesome stories. He also had a snake skin that must have been 25 feet long and was as thick as deer hide. According to him it was one of the smaller snakes that the natives had given him. It had a beautiful pattern similar to a rattler but it was red and black. Since then the Snake skin quiver idea has facinated me and its good to see this quiver that utilized that look!
Can you post a pic of wearing the quiver?
