I got this hawk head from Chris K. @ the classic. Not sure if this handle is gonna be a keeper or not, but wanted to get a handle on it and start using it. Handle is an old sledge handle I filed and scraped down to fit. I sealed both head and handle with a mineral oil/ beeswax paste I made this morning. Thanks again for the idea Bubby. ;) I'd like to add one of those shoulder sheaths like 4est makes for it. This is where I'm @ so far. Thanks for lookin, dpg

Awesome man! I have me a genuine Kevin Halverson hawk and knew for a fact I would never touch that head. Im glad you made it into a useful tool. See you in the spring my friend!

Thanks Pearly!! The first several, and only so far, throws I taken w/ it were on target and really comfortable. I'm ready to get the sheath made and start putting it to some use. dpg

I was told by the forger it was primo steel. Is that the case you suppose?

That's a nice one Derik and a good job with the handle. I'm waiting on my Halverson Hawk to arrive this week. ;D

It seemed to have sharpened up pretty good Pearls. I've yet to hit a rock with it :o, but it cut a branch hangin in the archery range pretty good. I;ve got several good hawks, but this one is slowly becoming my favorite. Once I get the sheath made I'm sure it will be. ;D ;D ;D
I'm happy, dpg

Very" children of the corn" like implement :D. Man that thing would open up the chest cavity of a whitetail in short time. Very cool!
