Hey guys. I've just about got this one done and wanted some more eyes to evaluate it. This bow is 60", 1 1/2" to mid limb to 1/2" nocks, glued on riser. It came from a stave I received from Osage Outlaw at the Classic. I'm thinking it needs to bend more out of the fade on the bottom limb. It should come in at around 45 @ 26"

Looking good Greg! I wouldn't take too much off at that spot, but some. Nice work!

The top limb appears quite a bit longer, right?
The tiller looks pretty much done. I agree that IF anything needs to be done to it, you need to scrape the fades. I'm just not sure which fade to scrape, due to the apparent limb length difference.
-
There's a touch of an angle to the pic so it's hard to tell. But i do agree with you that the bottom is a touch stiff. The only problem is if you loosen it up any then your top limb will be stronger than the bottom and you'll have to either flip it or weaken the top to match at draw. If it's shooting fine you can also just leave well enough alone ;)
-
Whew! That bugger looks nasty Greg....and just look at that nasty unbraced pic. Better get to fixin that one up....hahaha
That tiller is spot on from my chair. Does it balance nice? If it does then there isnt a strong limb. She's a charmer.

I say shoot it!
Lookin' good Greg.
-
I would shoot it for a couple days, work the limbs a bit.
-
I agree with pearl,,,,,,,,,,,,Really nice looking tiller and unbraced pic.

Well, thanks for the input guys. I'll start shooting her in this weekend. Hang in there Blackhawk. You have potential. >:D

Heck yeah Greg. You turned that stave into a sweet bow. Can't wait to see it finished up.

It looks like both areas out of the fades are bending the same. The first time I looked at the picture I agreed wit you, G., but I think you're bow looks good now. I agree with Pappy. Go shoot it and see. Jawge
-
Maybe just a touch stiff in the fades like you said but I think it looks good. Definitely my kind of tiller for that limb profile. Can't wait to see it finished!
-
Thanks all. I'll try to put a few arras thru her this weekend. I'm thinking of painting some native style designs on the limbs. It will be a gift to my 15 year old nephew. He always watches me and my sons shoot, but won't participate even though I know he wants to. I figure a new bow should break the ice. I really appreciate the stave Outlaw.

Can't wait to see it finished!
Knowing Greg that might take awhile ::)
