Title: Buckthorn for a Lady
Post by: TacticalFate on July 27, 2013, 05:32:45 pm
This is for my girlfriend's sister, she's quite small in stature, so this one's 25# at 24". Buckthorn, dyed with walnut dye, pear overlays, first time doing them. String is 8-strand Dacron. added a feather on the handle for added pretty. This was an offsplit from a stave that checked itself to death due to me leaving it inside with the bark off overnight.

Nice bow!  Great recovery from screwing up the top half of the stave. Checking sux.

Good photos, too, except the full draw.  It's obvious that you are a good photographer.  So go get the young lady to draw the bow and YOU take the photo of her.  >:D

Nicely done! Looks like you had a lot of character in that stave to work around but you sure got her bending good.
I like the primitive look of it also.
