110% sure its winged elm....excellent bow wood...cut it down and then some more too...that might be one of your better/best choices available to you locally for trees for bows....

Yep that is winged elm, it is very good bow wood.

I'm eyeball'n one..... up a log'n road, its about 6' in dia. and I can't decide whether or not to cut it............next spring.......maybe. Its the only one I've found on my place. you'd think there be a few more ???

Where all the elms effected by Dutch elm disease?

Winged elm. Years back my dad and I planted them from a nursery into our yard to shade the house. Elm is the BEST wood hands down to make a bow of. And I can prove it :) Have fun with that, your gonna love it.
