Title: 2nd bow, nearly done
Post by: JacksonCash on August 11, 2013, 11:10:34 pm
Here's a video of me shooting a few arrows out of the wife's bow. It still needs a little work, and quite a few more arrows through it before I call it done: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Srs6HwPGns (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Srs6HwPGns)

Looks like you know what you're doing.  Nice work.

It is maple with a hickory backing. I'll be posting finished pictures either later this week or next(depends on when I get it finished!). It is 64" ntn, and pulls just over #30@28.

Pyramid shaped, started with a 1"x 3" maple board and a purchased hickory backing from 3 rivers.

I would have been done with it a bit earlier if I wasn't trying to make something the wife could shoot without too much difficulty. I had a lot of trouble getting it down to that draw weight, was worried about taking too much material. This will probably be my last bow until I can get into a living space that also has a working space, or at least a shady area outside.
