here is a rattle snake that I found today and skinned. its roughly 2 ft long, sadly there are wholes in in by its killer(a shovel wielding fiend ::) ) Not sure what type of snake it is, if you all could help me out that would be great!

Only two vemnomous snakes in Wyoming, prairie rattler and the midget faded rattler. The midget faded rattler is a subspecies of the prairie rattler and not all that common.
How did it taste? ;D

it was a bit tinny for eating, next time i get a chance im going to hunt a few and get some for eating.
-
Just be careful who bites whom. This is one of those situations where it is better to give than receive!
-
when i hunt them ill probably wear my cowboy boots so that i have some protection. Should i remove the membrane that is on the skin before drying or is it not a super big deal?
-
I will go with prairie rattler.

Definitely Prairie Rattlesnake. Dang the shovel marks, but they can be masked by dying the bow back before gluing.
