Title: Hickory osage flatbow.
Post by: adb on September 19, 2013, 11:03:40 pm
Another one in the books. I actually finished this one up a couple weeks ago, but the proud owner finally came and picked it up today. Hickory backed osage flatbow... hickory, bloodwood, maple riser... black ebony tips, round horn arrow pass. 64" ntn, 40#@26", black faux sharkskin grip. Just a good basic flatbow. Truly one of my bread and butter bows.

I love it when people order these bows. They're no-nonsense... easy to tiller, take little set, shoot fast and hit hard. Plus they look great ta boot. Winner, winner... chicken dinner.

That's the kind of bow you grab first from the rack, time after time. :D

Never. With ipe and osage it's completely unnecessary. I've never had a bow with this design or material take more than 1" of set, even up to 70#.

Here's some pics of a 74# maple/ipe flatbow. Less than an inch of set.

She, actually! It's made for a young lady. 14 year old daughter of a buddy. She's tall and strong... 40# no problem.

Hard to beat a well made flatbow in my opinion.  Clean lines and a pure pleasure to shoot.  Very nicely done sir!  Josh
