Hello all.I meant to show these when made but did'nt have my digital camera yet.Pair of bows right next to each other in the trunk.Shag bark.Bark pulled off when wet leaving those ridged lines on the back.I gave em some light brown leather dye to highlight the ridges. They're 62.5" NTN.One 51#,the other 53# @ 28".Flipped tips.Flat broke in profile with a mild heat treatment giving them each about 2" of resting set back.Stout bows. Both of these are'nt working as much into the fades as my bows lately. They shoot great though and like my 45 to 50 spined arrows the best. Both center shot because of the wiggles.I left em pretty much bare bones.Fun to make and shoot. Thanks for looking.
Resting first.

And of course the money shot. Both are the same. They were fun to make and thanks for looking.Gues I could of had em working a little more to the handle but they are working up to the fade anyway.
-
Very good looking bows, Beadman! I like the shot of seeing them side by side with the snake.
-
Me too Parnell. They are'nt very snaky but enough to get em to be center shot anyway.
-
Congrats on your new twins Ed!
-

-
Those two are cool. good job
-
Very nice! I really like the way the back turned out. Nice tiller as well. Super duo!
-
hard to beat the simple beauty of a hickory bow IMHO
-
Thanks all you guys.Nice getting that nice feed back from you all.If there's anything you see wrong be sure to say it.I'm not perfect and these bows are'nt either. They are'nt my best performers really but still above average anyway.I think I may have a little too much wood on the outers myself and it should be working more on the inner limbs too.If I remember right I think I may have pulled these to 29" a bunch too while tillering. There was'nt any knots etc on these but that tree produced I think 5 good bows.Think it was a 10" tree. Not much waste.

A couple of dandys. Snaky hickory does look cool.

Really nice work Ed! Real nice! Josh

Those are some sexy sisters Beadman...I have a soft spot for some well seasoned hickory. Really nice...

Nice looking sisters Beadman, well done.

I love the look of both of those bows.
-
Nice bows!cool x2!
-
Very nice bows!
-
nice matched pair, and I think your right a little stiff inside, but really nice set, bub
-
Thanks fellas.I don't know where all these bows I'm making are gonna end up someday but I do have quite a few nephews and grand nephews that seem interested.Maybe some nieces that'll take an interest too I don't know.
I've been liking that circle full draw look lately with bows.Been doing it with a slight deflex in the handles. These were made 8 or 9 months back and just were given reflex from the fades with a flat handle to begin with.So it looks like the handles are extended some.

Nice! How wide are the limbs?
-
At the fades is a scooch over 1and1/2" wide carried out to about midlimb, and a scooch less than 5/8" thick at the fade and tapered from there up to about 8" from the tips then narrowed and thicker to the tip.
