Title: Meet, May
Post by: steelslinger on October 10, 2013, 09:50:06 pm
I was given a small amount of money when my great grandmother May died this spring, and I wanted to do something meaningful with it. So I called Echo Archery and picked out these two billets that were cut in February of 1980. The upper limb was de-flexed right out of the fade, and re-flexed from mid limb out. The lower limb was dead straight.
It is 72" tip to tip pulling 60#@29". Cow horn overlays and arrow pass.
I am very happy with how this turned out, and as always please  feel free to give me some feedback.

Very cool bow and story behind it, I'm sure it will have a special place for years to come.  I really like what you did with the handle wrap.  Any details on how you did that?

Great job.  Tiller fit and finish all look great.  Touching story too.  That always makes something more special.  I'm sure May would have been thrilled to see such a finely crafted work of art that she was the inspiration for.
