Title: Weekend at Cade's farm
Post by: Pat B on October 28, 2013, 12:44:49 am
Chris Cade invited Steve Parker(Hillbilly) and myself down to his farm near Willington, SC. This was a meat hunt, gun hunt. When I arrived about noon on Saturday Steve was cleaning the nub buck he shot that morning. Saturday evening Chris drove us to our stands on the fourwheeler. Just before sundown the first shot was fired by Chris. About 10 minutes later another shot, Steve and 10 minutes later I shot. Here is the results...

Happy hunters...

Thanks Cipriano. This is the first deer I have killed in a few years so the meat is welcomed and this is my first hunt this year. We had a great few days together and the weather was about perfect.

Good deal! Nothing like deer meat. Did you take your old savage lever?

David, it is a Savage Model 99E in .308.
I'd rather done it with a bow but I also prefer having meat in the freezer.  ;)

Glad you got to come down Pat, I had a great time as always. Weekends are just too short when you're having fun, though. Good to get some meat in the freezer, too-I was about out.

Man, I'm glad to see you guys knock some down, there. Chris has been working hard to get the deer back, and it looks like it is paying off. I was beginning to think everybody got together to hug on trees ::) ;)Ohhh, I wish I had been there on the Bank. Maybe Thanksgiving. Congratulations, guys, looks like a great weekend.

Eddie, one of those bucks came from the bank. When you get done sitting around in them Spanish/Irish beer joints, you need to get your butt on down there. :D

Derik, we quartered them and put them in the coolers with ice and drove home on Sunday.
