My girl of 5 got this after school today.
Osage 40" drawing about 18# at 17" but she won't get there for a while. She helped me pick out tissue paper and we spliced it with TB3 to get the vines on the limbs long enough. 2 coates tru oil. 3 holes clear through. She's pretty stuborn and after I showed her one time to nock an arrow, she wouldn't let me help anymore tonight ::) ::) I really don't know where she gets that trait O:)
Purse leather handle with ERC wedge for rest. Single nock on upper. Zippy little bow!

Very very cool! Nice little bow! Worth every moment for that smile eh? Good job Dad!
-
Wow, Doobwah! That is an impressive set, bow and archeress!
Please get everything in order for entering that into bow of the month!
-
Thats a cool little bow, a one of a kinda with that finish and I love the character in it. Has a nice bend as well and thats not always easy to do in those kids bows. She looks pleased with it as she should be, nice to see. :)
-
Awesome. The best part is the way these little ones take to the bows. So natural for them . What's the story with the other one? Beautiful little girl you have there by the way. My hope with my daughter is that if I toughen her up with enough manly knowledge like using weapons, power tools etc., that most boys will be scared off and only the really good ones will be left ;)
-
That is just fantastic! Very nice to see. Jawge
-
Very cool, I see that bow passing down for generations.
-
Just replied on your sons and this is just as nice. I will never get tired of seeing kids bows.
-
Wow, thanks everybody! I think I have tried harder on these kids bows than some others. They have been real fun actually. Had to get em both done at the same time or someone might have got a tip in the eye during the struggle ;) :o

Yeah, we do some rough housing and she's pretty tough I guess. I kinda like the method a friend of mine told me about. "Ask the kids name at the door and write with a sharpie on a shotgun shell, then put it on the mantle." >:D

Thanks JW, she's a awesome little gal, and thanks for the compliment on the bow, but I wouldn't have any idea how to get in order for BOM ...

Cool set...well done!!!
-
Love it! Great to see the yungins with a stick and string! I can't wait until my grandson is old enough.

That made me choke on my tea ;D ;D ;D
Really sweet bow and a happy young 'un.
I've just showed a friend how to make a bow for his sons christmas present. It'll be fun watching him shoot it, kids just love bows.
-
Again, thanks to all who had the kind words.

Thought about this. I wouldn't trade this bow for any of the BOM's.
That being said, I know I am not near half the bowyer that many people here are and wouldn't enter this bow as BOM for that reason and that both bows are already very special anyway.
But who knows, someday I may reach the level for a BOM... >:D >:D...hmmmm

Yeah, I thought it was funny before I had a daughter, now it's a serious option >:D

OH yeah, pretty amazing what a little sliver of this yella stuf can do. I didn't think I was ever gonna get the weight down to a kids bow. Not my usual problem.
-
Great looking bow for a Great shooting partner, I love those little bows. Ed
-
Great job! Nice bow too BTW!
-
Sweet job man!
Ive been having a lot of fun building bows for kids lately also.....and it is tricky getting the weight LOW enough.
Keep 'em coming.
-
You are an artist at these little bows, wow.
-
Love seeing kids get bows, but a pain to make
-
Great little bow... she looks really proud
My 'little girl' asked me for a bow the other week.... she's gettin' married next year.... hmmmm.
She can shoot the pick of mine any time so I'm not quite sure why she want's one.

Hey man! you messin with my name? >:( ;) :)
-
nice work and love all the details, kids will like that too.
alot more fancy and colorful than the bent hackberry stick I made my grandson
-
That looks perfect for the young lady. My 5 y/o granddaughter picked up shooting a bow very quick. I bet those two would have a blast together flinging arrows.
-
Very cool doobie! Those little bows can be a booger to tiller and you handled them like a pro. I think your skill level is improving a lot faster than you realize. It would be a shame for you to hold those back from the voters. Nicely done Sir, very nicely done! Josh

Looks like she's happy with it way to go.

Hey Carson, thanks! Nope I didn't do the carving. A guy my mother knew in Hot Springs Mt. did it back in the 90's A. Holik is on the front bottom.

Thats a nice little bow. Passing it down is the best part of what we do. Good job. Danny
