Title: A few new pots

I pinched up a fired a few more pots. Nothing too special, just some drinking vessels with some patterns and pictures. Wild Florida clay and fired in an open fire pit.

Those look like miniatures of the one I want to make. Would like to cook some venison and Vegies in a big homemade pot. Do you mix anything in the clay, like mussel shells or grasses? I think there is a way to harden and smooth the inside for cooking. Thanks for the pics, they are motivating and cool.

Really nice Ryan.  Wish I had better access to clay down here.  I wonder how far the clay resource comes down the peninsula?

thanks guys. I do mix some grog in the clay, little sand, little crushed rock and/or ground up pottery shards. bigger pots I do use some chopped moss, but none in these smaller cups, they hold together better without moss I think.  I was thinking about doing a youtube video on them soon. I have lot on my plate at the moment but next time I head out to the clay hole, I'll bring the camera along

Very cool Twisted.
I used to make quite a few morsel built pots. I went to a kiln after loosing to many in abo firing. I was to impatient and lazy I guess. lol
I reccomend everyone build and fire at least one pot.  It is really rewarding.

Very nice TL. Every time I turn around I am wanting to try another primitive art I see on these forums. I can't keep up. Hope you do a build along and maybe I could manage to make a pot or 2 with the kids when it thaws out up here. Thanks man, Marco
