taking blackhawks advice I got a little selfish and built me a bow, this journey started a few years back when my good bud Pearlie sent me the belly splits from his twisted sisters bow, guess he was tired of me posting boards and wanted to give me a challenge, after him threatning to come take them back the last few years I figured I better build'em, 70" ttt osage and 55# @ 29" (http://i623.photobucket.com/albums/tt320/bubncheryl/trade%20bow%202013/101_4419_zps5c9768d2.jpg) (http://s623.photobucket.com/user/bubncheryl/media/trade%20bow%202013/101_4419_zps5c9768d2.jpg.html)

that bottom limb gave me fits because above that knot there was really NO wood I could remove, it had some prop twist I had to take out but I left everything else au natural, I wanted to do a t/d for ease on my part there just wasn't much wood to do a splice, I got the sleeves from Carson @ echo archery thank's carson, the reason for the silk wraps is that above that knot there was an area that I had to make a small rawhide patch and I wanted to cover it up, and there were large voids in the fades on the same limb, on the fades I mixed some yellow sawdust in some epoxy then sanded it down after it set, plus the wraps look good, it's a shooting sob that has a knack for hitting the ten ring, the length helps there, and has just a little bump on release. Thank's Chris for challenging me and the other Chris for making me get a little selfish, Bub

here's the brace and the money shot, hope ya like looking as much as I liked building her, Bub(http://i623.photobucket.com/albums/tt320/bubncheryl/trade%20bow%202013/101_4423_zpsbedc59d7.jpg) (http://s623.photobucket.com/user/bubncheryl/media/trade%20bow%202013/101_4423_zpsbedc59d7.jpg.html)

That thing has some crazy kinks and bends. I bet it was a challenge to tiller. Nice work.
-
Man that is one nice looking bow - very very nice! What are the tips?
-
Fine looking stick you got there, Sir
DBar

for those that don't remember this bow, I got the splits off that
-
I'm liking that one bub, real nice bow. That take down feature will come in handy to transport when your riding that little red tricycle......, I'd think a guy with a 29" draw would be to big to ride one of those.
-
thank's Paul
thank's Greg, i'm more of a pusher than rider on the red trike though
-
Impressive
-
That is a awesome looking bow that paint job would match those viburnum arrows I posted the other day. 8)
-
Nice work bubbly. The wraps look great. I like how you added them up and down the limbs. Sharp one! That take down might come in handy hunting out in that big country of yours.
-
thanks Joe
thanks Rob, its not paint though its silk thread, and it was a bear wrapping those fades
-
thanks Pearlie, thank's for the push with my skill set ;)
-
Sweet! Really nice work bubby.

very cool bubby!
-
Nice take down Bubby! That looks like it was a tough one to tiller out. You did a great job with it. I really need to try a two piece one of these days.
-
Thanks Clint it was tricky but worth it
-
That is a great looking bow bubby! The wraps look awesome. You did that osage justice.
-
Nice job. How was doing the TD part considering the wobbles of the wood and all? Easy to align it all?
-
Thanks Okie I guess they were worth all the cussing
Steve they weren't to bad to do, just had to think about it some
-
Damn Bubby, it came or real nice, good job..
-
Sir, watch out, there is a cat tring to eat your arrows!
Very nice bow, I like the colourful wraps that liven it up. And the quiver is great, too.

Great job on an interesting stave. Love the fit and finish
-
I want to thank all of you for the kind remarks on the bow and the quiver
chris I built a few boards during the build of this bow, but these crooked, twisted , nasty builds are a real challenge and kind of addicting, i'll be building another ;), I've got a straighter pc of osage in the works right now, a static with a big ol' knot about 8" from the tip
-
like they say bub....great wood makes great bows, and poor wood makes great bowyers :D

Yes sir, like everyone else said, super nice bow and I love the takedown and the bow quiver. I've had the sleeve set up for about 5yrs and still aint had the guts to tackle it. Danny

-
HA!
-
HAHAHA... Nice one
Jon
-
Is it wrong? I practice out of the radio flyer wagon
-
Paul you might fit in a wagon better than I fit on that tiny trike ;D, the hard part was setting the timer and getting on and drawing before it took the friggin' pic
-
Lmao!!! That's hilarious bub  ...thanks for the laugh pal ;)
-
Timer? To embarrassed to ask the old lady to come out and take that pic? Chicken
-
Timer? To embarrassed to ask the old lady to come out and take that pic? Chicken
the OL' LADY is at work buddy, hell she's seen me do lots stupider things than that ::)
-
Thats great bub   You better check that thing for a bend axle before you ride it out to your hunting area again.
-
heck Greg that thing could hold an elephant, as you can see by the picture
-
i wouldve laughed so hard if the camera caught you flat on your back cuz you missed the seat.
